“I went to see Jamie for the first time in early September to help with burn out, a general lack of vitality, and a jumpy nervous system. I’d never had acupuncture and didn’t really know what it would be like, but it was easily one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health and well-being. Jamie has an incredibly warm, calm, welcoming demeanor, while being very clear and professional, and not at all woozy or mystical. She definitely knows her stuff and is clearly invested in taking the best possible care of her clients.
The office and treatment rooms are beautiful and relaxing, but I was most struck by Jamie’s perceptiveness and agility in adjusting her treatments to what my body needed in the moment. I saw Jamie weekly for about five months and every treatment was different. She always began with a brief check-in to see what was going on with both my mind and body, asked very astute (though never invasive) questions, and then created her treatment. It was always a dialogue and she would promptly adjust her strategy in accordance with how I responded. There’s an artfulness to the way she works, a presence and responsiveness that’s quite remarkable.
In addition to the acupuncture, she did massage (which was amazing), cupping, moxi (applying heat), and prescribed herbs and dietary changes as needed. I had purchased a package of treatments (which I highly recommend doing – these things take time), and there was never any negotiating about different treatments costing more or sessions occasionally being longer than 50 minutes. It was amazing and left me feeling like Jamie was a true modern-day healer. She is exceptional and seeing her was always a joy. I have since moved cross-country, but I will absolutely be back to see Jamie whenever I’m in San Francisco!” ~L.G
“At different times I have been to many acupuncturists–some Chinese some not, and Jamie is fabulous–she nails the chi every time, explains what she is finding, and gives great nutritional suggestions too. I first went at least 4 years ago–mostly because I felt run-down, and out of balance. Jamie fixed me right up, and I keep going back. And I always recommend her.” ~ Katherine K.
“Jamie is a miracle worker. Having dealt with serious back pain for over a year, she figured out a way to make my life pain-free!” ~Rafi M.
“I found Jamie for help with anxiety(during the time my therapist went on maternity leave). Even though though my therapist is back, I still continue with Jamie! She has a lovely demeaner and clearly cares about my well being. Her accupressure is divine. I wish I had her in my back pocket for that alone. Jamie inserts needles and let’s you relax in very calm surroundings. I often catch myself snoring and never want to leave the cozy warmed table. FYI: Parking is surprisingly easy. Enjoy! “~Nanci P.
“Jamie is patient, intuitive and easy going. She confidently assisted me in working through some challenging issues. The space, although called a clinic, is intimate and feels more like a home. if you are new to acupuncture, or afraid of needles like I am, I recommend Jamie because she has a gentle touch and establishes rapport and trust quickly and easily. I am grateful for her service.” ~Marney S.
“I feel I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jamie as an acupuncturist, healthcare provider, healer, and human being
I started going to see Jamie about a year and a half ago for aches, pains, and palpitations related to stress and anxiety. Being a nurse and having circulated the healthcare industry for quite some time, I’ve seen my share of clinicians and providers and Jamie is definitely someone special.
The thing I love most about going to see Jamie is that I never feel rushed and I always feel heard. I don’t get the feeling that I’m simply one of her appointments that day. She listens, explores ideas and options, educates, and above all is compassionate and respectful. She’s definitely someone who I know has my best interest at heart, is sensitive to my needs, and works at my comfort level towards a realistic goal.
I have chronic back pain from two previous falls, a knee injury from work, and sciatic pain as well. I’d be lying if I said they have all miraculously disappeared, but I do go days/weeks without even noticing them now. In addition to the acupuncture, she’s shown me stretches I can do at home to help relieve some of the muscle tension and pain, which has really helped. She follows up with your progress and adjusts the treatment plan accordingly. I am so thankful I found her and I can go on and on…. So I’ll just wrap this up by saying (emphatically) that she’s someone you really have to meet for yourself!” ~ Liz C.
I’ve been going to Jamie for the last couple of months on a herniated disc, which led to surgery. She’s a really wonderful person, and I went to her when I read the reviews on Yelp. She’s all of the things that people have posted and more. Not only does she know so much about acupuncture and the art of treatment, but she’s a genuine person that cares about your health and wellbeing. I look forward to the massage that she’ll start with, then the heat / needles, and just being able to relax and focus on my mental state for the time I’m in her office. She’s been able to help me through so much pain over the last couple of months, and I can only attribute my quick healing to the work she’s been doing with me. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed, I call her my miracle worker “ ~Becky B.
