07 Aug Instinct and Shedding: Snake Year in Motion
As we reach the midpoint of the Lunar Snake Year, it’s a ripe time to pause—honoring the path behind you and turning with intention toward the road ahead
This year continues to carry an undercurrent of change and transformation, where clarity may feel elusive. Like the Snake itself, which glides low to the ground with limited vision to see, you are encouraged to be guided more by instinct, relying less on logic and more on something felt versus seen.
Snake energy invites you to trust your intuition—sometimes because it’s the only compass available. The shedding of old skin can feel raw and strangely guided by forces beyond our control.
How might this be playing out in your life?
For me, this year began with a literal leak—winter rains exposed hidden water damage that could no longer be ignored. What started as a simple repair quickly unearthed rotting wood, which led to a full transformation of parts of the house.
It felt like a burden. I was overwhelmed. However, I noticed something deeper: the house had been quietly (then more loudly) asking for my attention, for care I’d been withholding. There was a distinct moment when my relationship with the project shifted. I began to feel gratitude from the house itself. It felt like a conversation—one that didn’t start in words but in circumstance. Once I was able to really hear, my heart opened and everything shifted.
This year’s Snake energy asks us to listen for what isn’t being said and to notice what emerges when we stop trying to force our own agendas. It’s a year to continue and listen closely, to shed gently, and to trust the transformation, even if you can’t quite see where it’s leading.
In good health,
Jamie
